I ventured out and went to the store yesterday. Yes, I am a crazy person that just had surgery and was going stir crazy. All I did was walk around. It felt so good to just get some walking in. I am hoping to get my sponge bath today!
After any surgery, life is different for a short while. Luckily, my kids and Travis have everything under control….kind of. Of course, I keep the house cleaner and less cluttered but I really can’t complain. I don’t have to do any of it right now nor could I if I wanted to. The kids sure are loving this though. It’s like they have all the freedom they could have ever wanted. They know I can’t chase them. They know I can’t pick stuff up. In just the past few days they have taken over their own lives.
They now believe they have a free reign in the loft and playing video games. I have been trying to nap but I never fall asleep, so they have been staying up there and out-of-the-way. They aren’t going to like it when I implement a time limit today!
They eat whatever they want. I can’t get into the cupboards since I can’t lift my arms up over my shoulders and I can’t lift anything. They’ve been eating tons of cereal, mac n cheese, granola bars and who knows what else. Travis has been making them lunch and dinner but they seem to never stop eating.
Their chores have stopped! They haven’t been picking up dog poop or helping out with dishes. This will be resolved today. Just because mom had surgery doesn’t mean you can stop doing the things she says. You should actually be helping out more! They will be learning this today.
Only mom is permitted to wear the same thing everyday or some of nothing along with not showering. The kids have been in their underwear or same clothes since surgery day. I’m wondering if the kids are even clean???
Here’s to being a dirty, smelly family that is learning how to have it all while mom is out of commission!
