This is the first year I have decided to do a 25 days of Christmas movie marathon and Christmas activity for Christmas.
We began on Nov 30th with the decorating of our Tree and watching the new movie The Star about the birth of Jesus. If you have kids and you haven’t seen it, I recommend it. You don’t have to go to church to be into this movie. It was more about the story and the spirit and my kids really enjoyed it.
On the 1st we decorated the outside of the house, wrote letters to Santa and watched Ernest saves Christmas.
Over the weekend Delylah was of course sick. We had planned on going to the Christmas parade on Saturday that is in our town and watch the Christmas tree lighting but with her having a fever that was a bust. Instead we made Graham Cracker Ginger Bread houses and watched Christmas Vacation. I usually buy gingerbread house kits but I have had this box of graham crackers and bag of powdered sugar forever and decided to save a few bucks. I think they came out great!
Sunday rolled around and Delylahs fever still hadn’t broken. Christmas colored snowflakes and Fred Claus for the win! At the moment the snowflakes are just stacked on top of each other but today they will be finding a better home.
Not to mention we have our elf, Felix. He hasn’t been as naughty this year but he did write on the fridge last night asking for Marshmallows. He has also un rolled almost an entire roll of toilet paper down the stairs and shoved himself in the joy jar. It might be a long month figuring out what to do with him….
I don’t have the days activities or movies planned out. I am winging every day until it’s time to do the activity and watch the movie. It’s a school night and the kids don’t get home until 4ish so we have limited time during the weeks. It’s going to be a challenge. I will let you know what I come up with.
Are you starting a new tradition? Do you have a tradition that you do every year?
If so, what is it? I’d love to know!
