School is right around the corner for us. Monday will be here before we know it! Yesterday we took Levi to his campus, got his class list and locker information. I like that the campus is small enough to not get lost but big enough to not be excluded because everyone already has their own little clicks. Today we get to head to Delylahs school to meet her teacher and find her class room. I know my kids are tired from our crazy vacation and not getting on Texas time yet so they are going through a lot of emotions right now.
Just a few but definitely not limited to only these….
School is like jail. You have no choices.
Lockers are stupid and so is the walk with traffic policy.
I hate math and math is first period for an hour and a half, 2-45 minute blocks. (He thinks math is going to kill him)
I hate science too.
And social studies. And language arts. I just hate school.
When is lunch? The schedule doesn’t say lunch…
Why do I need so many school supplies? I’m not going to use them.
Then we have Delylah…..
I wonder if my teacher is a boy or a girl?
Can I take ALL my stuff in my back pack?
Do I get to ride the bus?
I want cookies, juice and apple sauce in my lunch.
No, I don’t want a hair cut for school.
Can my friends come over after school…everyday?
Is my homework going to be hard?
Kids and parents are different. Here’s how I am feeling.
How the hell am I gonna get them both up at 5:30am, get homework, showers and dinner done before they fall asleep? Or before I fall asleep?
What will I do all day but have to be done with by 2:15 because I have to get kids from 2-4?
Maybe I will start meal prepping…Maybe not.
I am going to be soo tired!
The weeks Travis will be home are going to be so nice. I will have help for pick up and dinner!
Needless to say, I am excited for school to start and for us to figure all this crap out. Or maybe we won’t figure it out and we will be winging it for the entire school year.
Happy Thursday My Friends
