The past four days have been amazing! Being in Oregon with my Aunt and her family was so relaxing yet we saw so much! Usually my kids need some time to get used to where they’re at when they have never been there but they fell right into place at my Aunts! Seeing my cousins and spending time with them and their families was all much needed! I don’t even remember the last time I saw some of them.
We traveled all over my Aunt and Uncles property picking berries, exploring and just having a wonderful time. Oregon is beautiful! The only down side so far to our trip is Travis had an allergic reaction to something with welt like hives all over! Nothing like a vacation where something crazy doesn’t happen! So he went to urgent care and got some meds and is all better now thank goodness!
We spent plenty of time at Oregon Beaches where the water is freezing! I couldn’t believe my kids went in the water much less didn’t want to get out of it! My Aunt took us for a small hike to Drift Creek Falls where we got to walk across a suspension bridge and see the beautiful waterfall! Levi and Travis were the brave ones that dared to get into the freezing falls!
The one thing I could not wait to do was to go to Tillamook Cheese Factory! But first we stopped at the air museum. Something my kids love! They got to get into cock pits of many different air crafts. Such a fun place! At the cheese factory I was in heaven! Not only was eating fabulous cheese fantastic but being able to see how the cheese is made is fun! After that we headed to Haystack Rock which is a part of the Oregon beaches with a Ginormous Rock in the water, huge sand dunes, caves all over and tide pools! Super fun place!
Sadly this part of our vacation had to end and we had to say goodbye to family. We headed on to Crater Lake.(something we didn’t plan on) Spectacular views, more waterfalls and knowledge of things we didn’t have. So far the best vacation ever!
We rest our heads tonight in Klamath Falls. The drive here from Crater Lake was fantastic and historical. Driving passed Fort Klamath and reading all of the historical markers was quite fascinating. I’m so glad we chose to go this route.
It has been a week and half since my surgery. I am still very swollen but my incisions are healing well. They aren’t very sore but my belly itself is sore by the end of the day from all of the hiking and walking. I am hiking at a very slow pace.
