HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ME?

How much do you know about me?

For some of you, you probably think you know a lot! Others are probably chomping at the bit too afraid to ask. A few of you might be questioning but not really care. Today I am going to share some things you might not know about me and you might not care to know about me. Some things maybe you were dying to find out! Here goes…

I have changed my diet many times in the past 2 1/2 years to accommodate my aching stomach and help aid in digestion. Sometimes, I miss meat….

I got breast implant swhen I was 23. Hence the reason for my recent surgery. Implant complications after 9 friggin years. All together $15,000.00 spent on boobies that I’m not sure I’m even happy with….

I proposed to Travis after 6 years and a kid. I was tired of waiting.

I love watching romantic comedies, comedies, dramas, documentaries. I can watch them over and over again.

I can not drink black coffee. I have tried. It is so bitter! I’d rather drink no coffee.

People are always calling me a skinny bitch. My weight is something I have struggled with since I had Delylah. It’s my own issue, in my head. Knowing I am the heaviest I have been outside of pregnancy bothers me no matter how many times people call me a skinny bitch. It’s a struggle. I can’t eat cookies or bread. Or candy…. And I want to!

Sometimes I am jealous of my husband. He gets to go to work. Not have kids fighting and not listening to him. Doesn’t have to pick up the cat poop because the cat’s an ass hole. No homework, pick ups and drop offs, laundry or dishes. Only sometimes though…

I can do pottery. I learned at a young age by the babysitters daughter. Before we moved from California Travis got me a potter’s wheel and kiln. I’m excited for it all to be up and running so I can get my skills back!

Something weird…I have an inverted nipple. It made breast-feeding difficult and painful. It’s something new moms don’t like to talk about. When left ignored and without help, your baby suffers which makes you suffer. I was lucky to be able to talk about it and get help. Turns out my grandma had one too and was able to help me. I never knew until I had a baby and began breast-feeding.

My dream place to visit is Greece. Ever since I read and then saw Captain Corelli’s Mandolin in high school which took place in the greek islands, I have wanted to go there. The beauty and the history is alluring.

I was born on the first day of spring. My name is Winter. I have a cousin named Autumn and a cousin named Summer. And now my sister in law’s name is Summer. I think it was meant to be a life joke.

Some of these things you might have known. I’m guessing there’s at least one thing on the list that no one knew. Now you do!

Happy Sunday My Friends!

HAPPY SATURDAY

Yesterday was a day well spent. We went school clothes shopping! Probably the most strenuous thing I have done since my surgery. My arms were aching by the time we got home. The kids scored on some killer deals and got some cute outfits! Not only that but school supplies have been purchased and we are ready to rock this new school year here in Texas!

I’m excited for school to start! I am nervous for the kids too. It will be different but I think the differences will make it more enjoyable. Especially for Levi. He likes to be his own man and there’s a lot of that at the 6th grade campus here. He will say he isn’t ready to go back to school ever…even if we were home schooling again. He’s just not a fan. Some kids like school and some kids don’t. Delylah loves school! She can’t wait to start and meet her teacher. Levi never had that. Being under other peoples authority is not his thing. I am hoping that since they switch classes every hour and he is not stuck with same teacher all day long, he won’t have enough time to despise any specific one. But you never know with Levi.

Today we are going to fill the day with clean up, swimming and games! I would like to fit the movies in but don’t know if my boobs want to make a trip out of the house 2 days in a row! That sounds funny but it’s so true. They are feeling so much better and I am able to sleep in my bed now. My arms and shoulders get tired quickly and any amount of sweat on them irritates them. Once my incisions are fully healed I am sure the sweat will not be an issue.

The kids favorite things to do here are fight with each other, play video games, swim, draw, watch t.v. and ignore me. Today we will try to do some of those things. Some will come more naturally than others I’m sure.

Happy Saturday My Friends

A Fun Re-Post

Today I share with you posts that I have previously posted. I am sharing them because they mean something to me. I enjoy re reading them and reminding myself that it’s ok! No matter what my situation.

Really, It’s OK! ← This one is a favorite of mine. Some people get caught up with what society deems right and wrong. You don’t have to.

Mom’s Rules ← More often than not mom is the one who makes the rules. Even if it’s dad, these are relatable.

Ways To Keep The Love Alive ←  We get so busy with our lives that we sometimes forget about our partner. More often than not, it’s the little things.

Moms VS Dads ← Moms and dads do things different. We talk different. We clean different and that’s OK!

That Damn Chicken ← I used to be a crazy chicken lady before we moved to the suburbs of Texas. This is just some friendly advice for those who have chickens or are thinking about getting chickens!

Lyrical Advice ← Some lyrics have a deep meaning if you really listen.

Parenting Is F*$@ing Hard ← Don’t kid yourself. You are not the only one going through shit with your kids. I just hold on tight and wait for the day it gets easier.

The arrows point at the links to click. I hope you enjoy them like I do. Some good reminders in there.

Happy Friday My Friends

The Perfect Summer

Summer is almost over for the kids. School is right around the corner. This has been a summer full of emotions. We moved. Had to unpack and get settled. That took up a big chunk of their summer vacation. Luckily, we have a pool for them to get lost in. I had my surgery and haven’t been able to do a lot with them for the past 4 weeks…Another large chunk. School starts in just under 4 weeks. While we haven’t been able to do a lot, it has all been great! They have learned a lot, grown a lot and are more understanding because of our circumstances. For instance—-

They help out more than they ever used to. I do still have to ask but they do it now without a majority of the complaining, knowing that it is what has to be done.

They have always been fairly independent kids. Maybe a little more so now. They have drawing contests. (sometimes they include me) They play in the toy room and out in the play house….together!

They can cook and feed themselves. I think this is one of the better attributes that came from our summer. They would wait for me to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now they make most of it for themselves.

When we go for a walk, because that’s about all the physical activity I’ve been allowed, they go up to other kids and play. Levi never used to do that. They have opened up and are truly becoming amazing little humans.

They haven’t complained about how much we “haven’t” done.

Their high/lows have all consisted of high points being that we are all together.

For as much fun as you think your kids aren’t having because their summer wasn’t filled with beach trips, hiking, a vacation to somewhere or non stop on the go fun, just know that the little things matter sometimes more than the big ones. We have spent so much time together this summer doing pretty much nothing, that it has been one of the best summers.

Enjoy Life
