20 Years And Counting

20 years of friendship is just a crazy thing.

I have had my best friend since I was 12. We have known each other for more than half of our lives. She knows more about  me than almost anyone. We have stuck by each other through all of the ups and downs. Been there for each other when we needed it the most. It’s like a relationship. You get what you put into it.

My best friend came to visit me in my new state. We have had a few visitors but I think this one was my favorite. (sorry family) Staying up late just talking. Laughing at everything. Going anywhere together just because we can and always picking up like we have been around each other forever.

Our couple of days together consisted of tourism. I haven’t seen much of where we live or near it and this gave me the opportunity to do that. Museums, the zoo, a house made of beer cans and a giant waterfall wall. The sights were great but the company was better!

I miss her already but at the same time, this is what our friendship has been like for many years. We have our own families, our own jobs and have lived far from each other for many years. The fact that we have endured all of that and are still best friends baffles some people. She is my long distance relationship and every time I get to see her, no matter the situation, it’s worth it.

True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. The best friendships freshen your soul.
